Easy Albacore Tuna Nicoise Salad Recipe

Elevate the classic Nicoise salad with the exceptional flavor of Bell Buoy's Albacore Tuna. This quick and easy tuna Nicoise salad recipe transforms a traditional dish into a healthy lunch, a light dinner, or a delightful side salad.

You may be wondering what the difference is between Bell Buoy's Albacore Tuna and grocery store tuna. Well, wonder no more! We detail three important differences below.

1. Locally Caught

All albacore tuna delivered to Bell Buoy is caught off the coasts of Oregon and Washington

by local fishermen. The tuna is delivered directly to Bell Buoy by the boat captains. We know each family that fishes the pristine waters of the Pacific Ocean, and this personal connection takes "local" food to a new level.

All tuna canned by Bell Buoy is certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council. Much of the tuna you find on grocery store shelves comes from the South Pacific.

2. Center Loin Cut in Every Can

hand packed tuna

Have you ever opened a can of grocery store tuna and compared it to a can of Bell Buoy tuna? We use a center-cut tuna loin in our canned tuna. Most grocery store brands are flakey and often floating in water or oil.

We do not use water, oil, or any other fillers in our tuna. In a can of premium Bell Buoy tuna, you just get TUNA! It's a difference you can literally see when you open a can and a difference you can definitely taste!

3. Hand Packed Albacore Tuna

The line caught albacore delivered to Bell Buoy is cleaned, fileted and hand-packed in our

canning tuna

Seaside, Oregon store. Each can is topped in our Canco seamer designed in 1927 and manufactured shortly thereafter. The seamer adds the lid and is still humming along, canning 40 cans per minute! The cans are then cooked in our retort machine for 90 minutes to finish the canning process.

Bell Buoy is one of the last remaining canneries on the Oregon Coast; we process and can all of our tuna in-house in Seaside, Oregon.
